German airline Lufthansa saw its net loss widen to US$753 mn in the January-March period compared with $442.6 mn a year earlier, despite an increase in revenue. The company said the increase was due to measurement effects for hedging options, reported AP. Lufthansa said first-quarter revenues increased to $9.51 bn from $8.61 bn. Its operating loss narrowed by $152.98 mn to $337.15 mn. It says it “continues to anticipate a year-on-year increase in revenue and operating result.”
